A Soulful Weekend Getaway: Yoga, Friendship & Nature at Harbin Hot Springs

There’s something magical about packing a bag, leaving your routine behind, and disappearing into nature with your favorite people. This past weekend, a few close friends and I did just that—and I’m still glowing from the experience.

We escaped to Harbin Hot Springs, tucked away in the rolling hills of Northern California. If you’ve never been, imagine this: serene soaking pools, peaceful trails, and the kind of quiet that makes you feel like time is stretching just for you. It’s the perfect setting for rest, connection, and a little inner work.

Morning Flows & Fresh Air

One of the highlights of our getaway was morning yoga—taught by our dear friend, who also happens to be a beautifully intuitive instructor. We unrolled our mats on the deck overlooking the valley, the mist still hovering over the hills. With the sun rising and birds chiming in as backup singers, we flowed through breath and movement that felt deeply grounding. There’s just something about doing yoga in the open air, surrounded by nature—it sinks in deeper.

Lakeside Lounging & Laughs

After breakfast (yes, we went full-on with fresh fruit, coffee, and the kind of toast you only make when you're not rushing), we headed to the hot springs. We lounged, dipped our feet in, read books we’d been meaning to start, and shared stories. The calmness of the water mirrored how we all felt—present, content, and at peace.

At night, we soaked under the stars. The silence, punctuated by the occasional frog croak or owl call, was pure magic. There’s no cell service at Harbin, which felt like a gift rather than an inconvenience. No distractions. Just connection—to the land, to each other, and to ourselves.

A Reset for the Soul

We came back with soft skin from the springs, tired muscles from hiking and yoga, and full hearts from all the laughter. The weekend reminded me how powerful it is to pause. To create space for joy, intention, and friendship.

Whether you’re craving reconnection or just need a little digital detox, I can’t recommend a weekend like this enough. Especially when it’s with people who lift you up—and yoga flows led by someone who knows you inside and out.

Until the next escape!
