My Review
I’m not sure how I feel about this one. I usually have loved anything written by Mark in the past but I have mixed feelings now.
Intrigued and trying to put myself in Ruth and Adam’s shoes, I don’t think I’d let anyone stay with me even if the owners approved it! That starting point made it hard to find believable enough to put myself in their shoes for the full experience.
Once it started taking off, I found it hard to put down ( I read it in 2 days) but still struggled with the story and characters. I found them developed to a point. They just weren’t likable enough or made the realistic decisions that would keep you engaged. At least it didn’t for me.
On a sta system, one out of five, I give this a three.
Decent, predictable, and not mysterious enough.
