I am a lover, not of things but of faces and places

because lightning has left remnants through and through

I see the evidence in your eyes,
the gold flecks that are impossible to hide
the signs left behind
especially the soul-draining cries

To love in this life is what we all seek
to give and receive, it's all unique
I've loved you in a thousand different ways
in a thousand lifetimes, I will not stop now
Even after the last of my days
it's the only thing in totality that I'll allow
