Clickbait
There’s a new series on Netflix that released this week which has everyone talking.
Clickbait is one of those shows that you can’t stop watching and is truly a mind bender of a story with an ending that is a punch to the gut.
It will make you second-guess what you share even with those closest to you. I feel like I can’t share all that much without giving it away but I will leave you with a tidbit to think about.
Aside from trusting people, what would you do if a story came out about you that wasn’t true. How would you clear your name and is it fair to prosecute or spread rumors without knowing the full truth?
People love drama. It’s why we have a thing for reality TV or why we follow crazy celebrity rumors. We prefer to watch the train wreck without knowing what caused the train to go off the tracks.
For me, the show brought up a lot of serious questions about how we use social media and just what kind of articles and videos spread like wildfire online. How screenshots of images are easy to get and what someone with the wrong intentions will do with them.
It’s next to impossible to remain anonymous anymore or to share only what you want with friends and family. Without knowing it, you could very well be sharing private information that someone close to you will use for their own benefit and gain.
I invite you to check the show out and share your thoughts! It will be interesting to know how you feel about the outcome once the secrets are truly revealed!
