Description

Don’t miss the USA Today bestseller

If someone was in your house, you’d know … Wouldn’t you?

But the Hunter family are deaf, and don’t hear a thing when a shocking crime takes place in the middle of the night. Instead, they wake up to their worst nightmare: the murder of their daughter.

The police call Paige Northwood to the scene to interpret for the witnesses. They’re in shock, but Paige senses the Hunters are hiding something.

One by one, people from Paige’s community start to fall under suspicion. But who would kill a little girl?

Was it an intruder?

Or was the murderer closer to home?

My Review

Paige Nothwood finds herself in the most unlikey position having to interpert on behal of the police in an active murder investivation that hits a little to close to home. Her younger sister happens to be the Godmother of the little girl, Lexi, who was killed so Paige is already a little to close for comfort. What she doesn’t know is just how close she really is to the entire mess until she starts investigating on her own.

There’s a great twist at the end that I never saw coming but it wasn’t too hard to see who commited the horrible crime once the story unfolded about half way through. That being said, not everything was divulged at once, the leaking of facts happened gradually and left undone until the very end. That’s when you’ll find satisfaction!

I admit it took me a minute to get into this one, not because it was a bad read but just because life knows how to get in the way of a good story, especially when you need one the most! Becuase most of the characters in this story are deaf, it was told a a little differently which I really enjoyed although my only complaint that it was slow going at times. I felt like too much detail went into certain areas where it wasn’t needed. However, overall I really liked it.
