The Wind of Change

Sticking to book reviews is safe, it feels safe. I get to add a little tid-bit of info on a book without providing any more than that. It took a post by a favorite author on Instagram to get me to think about, and really process my blogging style and what I want to share with the world.

In no other time in my life has it been easer to connect with people from all walks of life. People who have the same trials and tribulations as I do, who not only suffer the same pain but feel the same joys and highs in life too! We, as a society for some reason focus on the negative. Tell me you're not drawn to people have an argument or altercation? Do you thrive on gossip with your pals or co-workers?

I think the answer for most of us would be yes. I see it everyday. People living in their drama while others watched on, surely to get a story to tell later at dinner, but no one steps in to help. To difuse the situation would be so easy but we stick to our own bubbles instead.

I'm not pointing a finger, trust me I do the same. All except gossiping. I've been sticking to a strict no-gossip rule, which is hard to do and sometimes I have to walk away, but it is possible! I've been stuck one too many times in my younger years playing telephone only to get caught up in it somehow. I realized probably too late in life and yet knowingly earlier than most, that it's not worth it. Learning some juicy tidbit about someone or something won't make you feel better about yourself and once you know, you can't un-know. That's why it's best to just change the subject if the conversation starts getting a little gossipy.

If you're debating on whether to engage, think to yourself and ask - will this positively affect my life? What are the possible outcomes?

If you're stuck on the last question and wonder if somehow engaging in the conversation will come back to bite you? Just don't...walk away from that. You could not say a word but stand there whole others were throwing shade around and just because you're there, you're associated with it. Trust me, you have better things to do with your time than get caught up in drama.

With this blog and my writing, whether it's about books, recipes or just life... I want to use it for more. I want to push the negativity out with positivity. Sharing and using the platform to connect others through our similarities and not our differences.

Please join me in this adventure and tell me how you live through kindness. I'd love to share your story!
